Licensed Veterinary Technician Julie has been with the Animal Clinic of East Avenue since July of 2006. She is licensed in the state of New York and earned her degree in Veterinary Technology at Medaille College in Buffalo, New York. She is also a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.
Her primary duties include taking patient histories for examinations, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, and assisting during exams and procedures.
Julie says that working at East Avenue provides her the opportunity to work with a good group of friends and for a great boss while helping perform a lot of advanced medicine and surgeries. “We also have great clients and are always extremely busy,” she adds. At home, Julie has three cats named Sabrina, Angel, and Tommy; a Nubian goat named Brooke, hedgehog named Marvin, and a number of tropical fish. Her hobbies include reading, connecting with friends on Facebook, gardening, fishing, deer hunting, playing board games and spending time with her nephews and niece.
Veterinary Technician Celeste says that she loves the array of clientele and pets that come through our doors as well as working with the staff. "The Clinic is small enough that there is a personal connection with each patient and among the staff and clients," she says.
Celeste has been with the Animal Clinic of East Avenue since June of 2010, but began her career in the animal care profession soon after earning her Associates Degree in Applied Science from the State University of New York at Delhi. Her duties include assisting with procedures, blood collection, lab work, taking patient histories, and anesthesia monitoring.
She also has a number of pets, which include an Australian Shepherd named Azula, domestic shorthair cat named Rumple Teezer, two cockatiels named Juniper and Ragweed, a Lovebird named Montego, and a Sun Conure named Poppy. Hobbies include geocaching with her boyfriend Derek and dog Azula, hiking, camping, baking and working on developing a green thumb.
